Hi all! I’m wondering why credible pilots and radar operators are often ignored when they talk about UAP. Isn’t their testimony valuable, even if we don’t have perfect explanations yet?

Hello! Their testimony is valuable, but the stigma surrounding UAP makes institutions nervous. People fear that taking such accounts seriously could damage their image or invite accusations of chasing clickbait or pseudoscience. As a result, firsthand reports are often downplayed instead of carefully investigated.

There’s a thoughtful discussion of how this stigma affects reporting and research in this article: https://medium.com/@steen_m_n/part-1-why-science-and-media-still-dont-take-uap-seriously-b82e9071ace8  It explains why ignoring credible witnesses ultimately hurts data quality and scientific progress.
